Hi Greg and welcome to EAB

You are using WinUAE (http://www.winuae.net/) right? If so you should have a look here : http://guide.abime.net/home.htm
I guess there will be more questions, but let's try to start this way

Can't really help you with the Amiga Forever download, but have a look here : http://www.amigaforever.com/kb/16-113
Seems like you need to contact the site where you paid for it.
K240 should run with a 'A500' (Amiga 500) quickstart. This might be important because you only get the kickstart rom for A500 (1.3) with the value edition.
Hope you can get the download sorted

When you first start WinUAE, Left pane, Under Settings, 3rd one down, Green Arrow pointing to the right with Quickstart written next to it select your model from the right pane and select the adf image in the emulated floppy box

Press F12 when he asks for the second disk. That will open the WinUAE GUI again

Well if the second disk is already in DF1 (the second 'slot'), then you just need to press the left mouse button (just checked it here).
Hope we're not confusing you yet
