I blame the lawyers for that kind of thing. If they give you a scrapheap rescued Amiga and it burns your house down, the ambulance chasers are going to have a field day.


It's stupid and it runs directly counter to common sense, like most things when lawyers are involved.

These things happen sadly. Around 2004 I was working for a secondary school in the UK who were throwing out piles upon piles of Acorns and BBC Micro's. All of them had decent monitors too with lots of software just skittered around.

I remember at one point he had a sealed copy of Marble Madness for approx $480. Stuff that! Instead, I found another sealed copy in just as good condition, if not better, for around $90. He's got some games up for 2000 euros. Maybe he likes his collection so much he doesn't want to sell it, but if the price is right!? . . .

These prices just exist in his dreams. But sometimes people who are rich and not connected to the community are buying games from him, if these are not also fake accounts. He tried to sell a not tested SX32 Pro for 4900 Euros. He never helped the community.

Sad point, many years ago he was a quite friendly guy. I bought a CD32 from him for only 90 Euros, then he start changing his mind...

I work in the education system in Australia and I come across Apple II stuff hidden away in storage from time to time. The Apple II was very heavily used in Australian schools up until the mid nineties, and even though most of them would have been thrown out by now, you occasionally come across schools where the technician just couldn't bring themselves to do it.


I'm cleaning up a few for my schools to use as display pieces.
