WinUAE Crashed - Boot disk validating

Hi,

I attached my CF card to the reader connected to a USB port on my PC.
Launched WinUAE to boot from it and also configured a directory with software I want to transfer to the CF card.

Mid copy from a shell, the emulator crashed with that black screen and a guru meditation like message.

Booted again the same configuration, and now the CF card is Validating. Does anyone know how long this process can take in WinUAE ? Are there alternatives ?
I tried using DiskSalv4 but it says it has no memory to run from the workbench

Mine did this. I just put it on as fast as possible in WinUAE and loaded to Workbench and just did reset. Has been fine ever since. Not sure if anything gets removed from the drive in this process.

WinUAE didn't crash, AmigaOS crashed. It would be similar to saying "PC crashed" when only some application crashed.

If shell Copy crashes, it usually means copying files with long files names or very deep directory structures with too small stack.

Large partitions can take long to validate and it is normal.

Are you sure the the disk-validator is actually running? Do you see it working on the card (using on-screen LEDs)? Does it read slowly?

If DiskSalv does not have enough memory, disk-validator might lack memory, too. In this case it does not even start and the disk stays in "Validating" state forever.
