Yellow screen

On occasion I get the "yellow screen" during startup. As explained to me a yellow screen means that the "68000 found an error before the error trapping software (GURU)was running."

Question is, is this code related to the 68000/7Mhz specifically, or does it refer to any 680xx-CPU?

It refers to any ancient ROM (<3.0), not to the CPU installed.

That's curious, given I've got ROM 3.1 installed on the concerned system. And I'm running AOS3.9 upon that - which probably doesn't have any effect on this particular "yellow screen", since it only occurs during cold boot - before any software ROM (3.9) has loaded into memory.

It also refers to any not-so-ancient ROM (>= 3.1). The error codes haven't changed and a yellow screen can still happen, even with a 68060 and 3.1 ROMs.

It is a common mistake to run a 68060 without correctly installing 68060.library. This will cause a yellow-screen-crash, too.

To keep things short, the system runs with a 68040/40Mhz (2040-board), using Phase 5s latest libraries, so to my knowledge that isn't the problem. If there is a problem, my guess is it's related to the hardware.
