CLI Syntax

Hello Everyone. I guess, I am best described as an Old - Newbie. Back around 1988, I bought my first Amiga 2000 from a distributor in Chatham Ontario Canada. He had been responsible for installing all applications and had created a custom menu bar accross the top of my screen, making my access to programs even simpler. This particular machine no longer boots and I suspect a HD problem. Not to worry, I thought. Several years ago, I was given an Amiga 2000HD running System 2.0 software. Not sure what else is all on it for software, but I fired it up for the first time today and it appears to be running just fine. Please beware - I know 4/5's of 9/10's of dick all about installing software on this machine but I am really stuck here. I have all of the original Bars& Pipes Professional software disks that were installed on the older machine, but I haven't a clue, these many years later, on how to re-install this same program or any other program for that matter, onto the newer machine's HD. Any help in figuring this all out would be muchly appreciated. Meanwhile, my midi system is down for the count...

Welcome to EAB Greaser

Just checked my collection of disks....On disk one there is an installer

(Hard Disk Install). Put disk 1 in yer floppy drive & double click the icon that appears.

This will open up a window where you will see the install icon.

Double click this and it will install on your HD.
