Qwak BBC micro version

Qwak was first made on BBC micro but published inside compilation by Superior Software (source: http://www.ppa.pl/artykul-Rozmowa.z....7_22_1184.html )

Another source http://www.thehouseofgames.net/index.php?t=10&id=53

so Qwak is not amiga original after all. Some people consider amiga qwak as remake.

Some screens.

PS. GBA version is sold out so it can't purchased from dev. site anymore.

Are we even sure that Qwak on the BBC is even the same game or simply a case of Jamie later accidentally using the same name?

Is the BBC Qwak even by Jamie?

I posted interview with Jamie (in polish but you can use google translator). He clearly stated that he did BBC micro first then amiga version with Team17.

I think the BBC version pre-dated the Amiga version by about 4 years.

Amiga version was based on the BBC version (it had a duck, bubbles you can ride up the screen on, crumbling tiles to walk on etc). Also, quite a few new elements introduced in to the Amiga version (throwing eggs, different types or eggs, levers and trap walls, power-up potions, flying helicopter hat, raining fruit falling out of sky).

I don't know, to be honest, I'm not sure how you'd catagorise it.

It's a bit of an odd one I guess; I'd say there's more of a difference between the BBC and Amiga versions; than there is between the Amiga and PC / Mac / iPhone version (which is essentially the same game).

I'm not sure if you'd say it was a different game or not. So, BBC and Amiga versions, both have ducks as the main character, both platform games, you collect fruit, there are some similarities, but a lot of differences and improvements with the Amiga version.

Enough to say it's a different game, but with the same name maybe. It's really up to you how you guys want to catagorise it, I don't mind either way.

Hoping to do another installment, at some point, which will be quite different again!...

Better get back to it.
