Alternate monitor

Hello

Is it possible to use other CRT monitors with Amiga and C64 without using any scandoublers ?

I'm about the old crt monitors for PC way back in time.

You can use MultiScan Productivity mode for Workbench
and workbench friendly programmes.

Most games generally drop to 15 kHz which most monitors cannot handle.

But there are a select few monitors than can MultiSyc (I was thinking of my NEC) that low.

Multiscan, not multisync. It is an important difference.

Multisync usually refers to a monitor that has variable vertical refresh rate (most)
Multiscan refers to a monitor that has variable (or supports more than one) horizontal scan rate.
But to make matters complicated, a lot of monitors, like the NEC ones, were sold as "Multisync", but they did both.
With this I basically am warning you that not ever monitor (almost none) that is advertised as Multisync is also Multiscan.

A bunch of old VGA monitors will be able to accept 15Khz scan rates (NEC Multisync 3D or II are the most common examples) but usually they do not.

For the Commodore 64, you are shit out of luck and are better off getting a PVM or BVM which supports S-Video (unless you can live with deplorable Composite video output)
A PVM/BVM with SVideo + RGB will happily display an Amiga and a C64 (provided you have the necessary adapters).

So this monitors will actually work with both Amiga and C64:

Make Model Panel Type Size (in. diag.) x-Res y-Res Aspect Ratio (x:y) Video Inputs: 15 kHz RGB Support:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG 1721a TFT 17 1280 1024 5:4 Composite, S-Video, VGA, tuner module Full
LG 1921a TFT 19 1280 1024 5:4 Composite, S-Video, VGA, tuner module Full

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The below list is taken from : http://www.cocopedia.com/wiki/index...._SVGA_Monitors
Will any of them do (taking the Commodore and Philips monitors away)

You asked about CRTs, a lot of those are not CRTs, the two you posted on top clearly are not.
Also as I said they will NOT work with a C64, you need either a Y/C, SVideo or composite signal for the C64 and those two do not have it.
