Jrom comes from "Jerome" (which is the more international version of my real name)... my nick on IRC in 96 when I started studying (and in lamer intro's on the amiga before that :-P). I got into a fight on IRC with a dude who called himself "Jerommeke" that our nicks were to similar. So a friend of mine suggested to drop the e's and I ended up with Jrom (which later became a very well known rom dumping site... which also caused some confusion on IRC at the time but that is another story :-D).

Mines short for Unknown_Killer. I needed an irc name back in the mid 90's and was watching the news here when they mention the name and I used it, good thing those feminine hygene commercials were not on tv at the time.

I had to shorten it to Unknown_K because of irc name length, and have been using it for almost 10 years now on every forum I am on.

See, and I always assumed it was a computer thing, as in 'Unknown amount of Kilobytes'.

Heh.

When I was in year eleven @ launceston secondary college. My friends (and enemies) dubbed me 'Anarchy Rob', to differentiate between the many, many Robert's in our social circle. There was also 'fat rob', 'tall rob', 'penguin rob', etc.

PPL have been calling me by that name ever since. If I was introduced to you in person by a mutual friend, you would know me by that name so therfore that's my name.

I have been spelling it Anaki Rob for a couple of years now.

Mine's a short for "Scaferlati Caporal", which was my tobacco when i was a smoker. The cheapest, actually...
I needed a nick for LANs, and it was there, near my keyboard.

@Hal

Have you heard this one?

"HAL was so-named to indicate that he was one step ahead of IBM. Alphabetically "H" "A" "L" precede "I" "B" "M" by one letter."

When I was young I watched Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Zack was the fifth turtle for a bit. Of course I wanted to be a turtle too...
If I ever got a highscore on an arcade machine I would always put 'zak' (used to only let you have 3 letters). Later the six letter highscore charts, so i stuck 'fab' on the end, for fabulous (which i was, i just got a highscore!).
Then when signing up for forums, email etc, zakfab is a natural choice for me now.

I first used my handle in a few Amiga demos that I knocked up with a few mates around 1990 in my early days at uni. Suffice to say we did a fair bit of drinking and smoked a bit of the old weed whilst knocking up these demos I used one or two different nicks after that on BBS's, but returned to using DrBong in 1996 on IRC. I can hopefully lay claim to the Dr part if I ever manage to finish the friggin' PhD thesis I'm currently working on!!

Bladesinger is one of the names that you call a dual wielding Elf in the roleplaying world. The blades sort of sings in the air. Very gracious and dangerous. One of my favourite characters in roleplaying. Dual wielding Elfs
