Changing the WB banner/title in OS 3.9

Hi,

I noticied that it's possible to change the banner bar in WB (OS 3.9), what utility can you use to do it? Any side effects (eg unstable system, chipram usage)?

Thanks,

Nova

There *should* be some tiny tools for that on AmiNet, but I can only remember the MCP package now.

Any side effects shouldn't happen, don't worry, too little modification...

Cool thanks, I'll give MCP a go.

I was after something like what they've done with AmiKit

MCP is a HORRIBLE patch. Don't use it.
I use this or something similar:

Send a message via MSN to smoorke
somehow i can't manage to get amilogo to display the right graphics. Probably has something to do with my custom 3.9 rom.

http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/WBTitle14 will allow to changing of the text and adding of additional information to your workbench title

Ressurection time - I'm currently searching the googled webs looking for any information on AmiLog and creating your own logo for it. I know I can use something like Pic2Icon to create a logo for it but I need to know image dimensions and what kind of images are good for pic2icon format, etc... I'm on OS3.9 BBags1-4 SAGA RTG.

Any help is (as usual) greatly appreciated... (Still search EAB ATM....before returning to the outer webs)

I use NiceBar, image size 70x17 (see screnshot), on AfA-OS there are still more Themes which have a wider bar and therefore you need a bigger Logo.

DOpus Magellan has an option for it (Settings->Environment->Miscellaneous->Custom Screen Title), so Amikit has probably used that.

Whoa - so many options. OK, I'm tired of trying AmiLogo so I will start trying these and see what i come up with. Thanks for the suggestions.
I'll report back what I end up with...

EDIT - I don't know how you get such Hi-Res looking images so small but I cannot get the desired effect i want - it's way too low a resolution at that size for me. To fit my title bar I can only do 8 pixels hi. *sigh*

I went with NiceBar although (Thanks AMIGASYSTEM) - it is straightforward, easy to use and works. Just not for the image I had I mind.

I use MCX (2.80). You can see my bar in the attached picture.

Can someone tell me how to change the name of the OS?

I would also like to know what "T:59 L:35 S:1" means and if it is possible to remove them and move date and time more to the right, thanks!

I think with MultiCX it's not possible to change contents the title-bar. You can just switch it on or off, but can't change what's displayed.

Thanks for the info!

There should be a place where MultiCX checks the OS version... maybe I have to declare a variable somewhere or something like this...

I am using a "custom" OS 3.9 based on CW 3.9.
I'm also using a Custom ROM via blitzkick.

I have no idea. I must have had PS in a weird mode or something doing 8 pixels high destroyed it. really. I don't know what size these are but thank you so much for these.

Why is this so great? Here, I'll let you in on a little secret but don't tell anybody.

Why not use VisualPrefs for this ? It gives you control over most common things in GUI in AmigaOS
