Lazarus - The Real Amiga
We actually named the site after Disk Doctor's notoriously over-enthusiastic jubilance at ressurecting moribund disks, which perfectly summed up our own juvenile glee at sourcing presumed-dead Amiga games. At the time. Sad to see Lazarus still being described as a "warez" site after all these years when, in fact, we were the first such Amiga emulation site (based on the World of Spectrum model) to actively seek permissions - as Bobic at Back to the Roots will confirm; we handed over all of our contacts to him when the site was razed to the ground in early 1999. As for what remains of the site: I have a 30mb HTML archive of most of the site's feature content, which was used to illustrate an article written for EAB's own APoV magazine yonks ago, but sadly, nothing ever came of it. I also put together a commemorative "special edition" of Lazarus in the style of Amiga Power, but never got around to finishing it. If anyone's even remotely interested in reading The Lazarus Story, I can upload... |

Magix FTP... was that the software that allowed you to serve FTP files from your machine? That was the birth of Lazarus on the #amigauae IRC channel back in late 1996.
I'm going to play with Quark Xpress over the weekend and try to finally get this finished. Hope it will be of interest. |
