You hopefully don't use the arrow keys (or arrow buttons) to navigate around?

Use the mouse in the 2d/3d window instead, it's by far the fastest method.

My peecee isn't really fast enough to handle that properly: PIII 550 mhz

I've only tried the left button, if I'm not mistaken. I'll check it out.

The cursor keys actually do produce proper, fluid movement, but my keyboard controller (or keyboard ?) can't handle two of them being pressed at the same time

I don't remember the coordinates, but it is somewhere to the north. You'll have to scan the desert a bit.

Hi,

Sorry to revive this old thread but it seems there are many AM fans out there
Are you aware of any recent AM remake activities? I found several dead websites and announcements from 2004/2005 but that's all. The "amberworld" project on sourceforge left some useful source code at least. Anything else?

Nope.

With Amiga emulation being so easy to use these days I cannot really see the point of a remake which uses the original gfx, maps etc.

Recreation of game engines is not generally a bad idea. It often resurfaces lost content and such. Plus, there can be a level editor.

The source code and binaries are sitting on my hard drive. Just needed testing before release. Then someone joined the thread and listed 20+ other issues they had found and so I put the patches I had to one side.

The source code & binaries to the "fan-made" patches.

The source to Ambermoon was lost in ~2002 when Bluebyte threw away the Amiga B2000 with all the Thalion games source code on.

Perhaps you could just release what you have now. With the sources someone (e.g. myself) could resume the work.

The reason I never released them years ago has not changed. At the moment the Ambermoon English game files are fully playable and completable with only a couple of niggly bugs. I'd hate for broken replacement Ambermoon files to start circulate making things worse.

One day I'll sit down with someone I trust and is a reasonable coder and work out if all the changes are safe.

I had thought that person would be the guy who started talking technical details about the bugs and fixes but things went quiet.
