I'm not kidding...

I could spend 24 hours a day defending why Rygar needs the AGA chipset to run and people still wouldn't understand - I wouldn't get any code done at all.

Luckily, I can switch myself off from these people who are clearly uninitiated and know nothing about the Amiga's history of capabilities.

More updates tonight

I think the coder has to explain nothing, he can do whatever he wants :-/

Another quick update on the controls...

I asked the question on social media - "Should my Amiga Rygar project support only a two button pad?"

Yes - Two buttons only (52%)
No - One or Two buttons (48%)

I had 126 responses over 7 days.

While I do love a bit of democracy you only have to look at Brexit to find out how far things can get fucked up, so I'll put the two button in.

get the full arcade tracks in .vgm/.vgz format, see discussion here: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=1294422&postcount=4

note: if the game is CD32 and respects the arcade audio layout, the music everyone chooses doesn't matter as the tracks can be switched/replaced. I still think that a good .mod module could substitute to the arcade music. I had proposed a very early mockup of the intro (well, without success, ...)

one button and space bar ? better with an option, since patching those afterwards (adding another button to replace UP for jump) is sometimes painful, specially when UP would then jump or climb, needed here (and also ruins gameplay, like in Toki or Ghost'n'Goblins Amiga)

I'm going to experiment with a very fast double tap to jump and a single tap to attack.

well, if you leave the symbols in your executables like for bombjack, it's easy to add any control features from whdload

This is not something I want to discuss in my thread as it diverts me from being creative and/or coding.

To all following this thread I would like to introduce DJ METUNE who is providing the audio for Rygar.

I am absolutely over the moon to have him provide the audio as he shares the absolute same level of professionalism, passion and attention to detail that I have around creating games. To give you an example, he has produced the in game music in the video below in 3 days and it is simply stunning.

Please take the time to look up his other material as he has produced music in games for the Amiga previously (notably Golden Wing).

More game updates soon.
