Exclamation Windows 7.1 over HDMI gives no audio

Hi guys,

since updating my PC to an I7 Coffee lake and 512Gb NvRam, I did a clean install of Win 10 x64 Pro (v1803) and now I have to switch my audio to 5.1 to get any output from WinUAE Never had this issue before - is there anyone here who knows how to fix this?

Many Thanks

BTW, this is the first time I've seen Snitz forums running for a long time

Much more details needed..

What does switching audio to 5.1 mean? Selecting 5.1 in Windows sound settings? What happens when sound is not 5.1? WinUAE switches sound off? Or nothing happens?

Make sure to test in windowed mode with basic config. Test both 44100 and 48000Hz.

5.1 = surround sound. Possibly WinUAE can't open the sound card for its desired output, or there's an issue between the sound card and the HDMI, i.e. not necessarily WinUAE related. (I would try some games and other emulators if this is a new rig.)

Of course I know what 5.1 mean (7.2.4 home theater setup here ) but it is useless information in troubleshooting without also knowing which setting (custom sound setting panel? Windows panel? Something else?) and which kind of device outputs the sound etc..

It sounds like already reported Intel NUC weirdness where sound device disappears when in fullscreen mode. Windows only tells winuae that device was disconnected..

OP: Run with -log to see possible sound related errors.
