Ntimed is release for the Amiga:
http://aminet.net/package/comm/net/ntimed Client support same features as on other platforms. Accuracy is of cause limited and there is no adjustment of frequency in kernel (exec). |

What's the advantage of Ntimed VS NTPSync?
Note: NTPSync can be recompiled with SASC 6.58 and the AmiTcp3 SDK (it was compiled with the AmiTcp4 SDK). |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ntpdate Ntimed is more similar to NTPD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ntpd The preview version only has a client implementation. A server implementation has been promised in the coming releases: http://phk.freebsd.dk/time/20141222.html |

A new Amiga version of Ntimed is out now. Its available on aminet and from github.
The new version is compiled with AmiTCP headers and there is no need for ixemul. It is compiled with GCC and hopefully my tool-chain is not too much different from other AmigaOS GCC tool-chains. Regarding adjustment of frequency in kernel, I am trying to figure out if this could be achieved on classic Amiga hardware by fiddling with the CIAB TOD registers. The software uses the timer devices' UNIT_MICROHZ. Any advice on the topic would be appreciated. I have tested the client carefully but not thoroughly. Bug reports are of course welcome. A teaser page is here: http://llsth.github.io/Ntimed/ Enjoy. Last edited by cla; 11 July 2015 at 18:02. |
