It's running from CD, so it's not going to be possible to copy anything to the "L" folder.

There are two methods to do this:

Update DVD
- On Windows Start UltaISO (or compatible)
- Move 'ntfs-handlers' from Storage s SYS:L
- Save

Update PenDrive
- Burn USB image to Pendrive
- Boot the DVD ISO from WMVare or other VM with Dopus4,
- Mount CD/DVD (VM side)
- Move "ntfs-handlers" from Storage s SYS:L

ntfs-handler -> Read Only
ntfs3g-Handler -> Read and Write
ntfs3g-Handler -> You must rename it -> ntfs-handler

By default, I do not use 'ntfs-handler', because it is experimental and because some users might touch data on the Windows partition and do damage by moving or deleting some Windows files.

If a DualBoot is used, an FA32/NTFS partition can be created to exchange data between Windows and AROS x86

OK, I did that (moved and renamed ntfs3g-handler and burnt another DVD), however it has not made any difference, the drives are still not showing up.

I did some tests with my PC with DualBoot Win7/AROS, "ntfs-handler" works fine, see screenshot, but it is read-only.

ntfs3g-handler on the other hand sees only one partition, but handles NTFS Pendrives well.

The ntfs3g-handler developer suggests creating a Mountlist or a DOSDrivers, but it has never worked for me, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

The Mountlist in my opinion is missing something

ntfs3g-handler is seeing zero partitions here :-(

My reason for needing AROS is just to compile Worm Wars 9.34 for it; the original porter is incommunicado and the current release for AROS (V9.3) has some bugs. It should just be a matter of getting the OS3 version ( http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/WormWars.lha ), typing make -f makefile.aros and then sending me the resulting binary so I can create a release package, if you or some other AROS user would like to help?

I am not a developer, but I do enjoy compiling some sources from time to time.

I compiled WormWars sources on AROS One, and tried the game, everything seems to work fine.

I will put WormWars on the next AROS One, I hope you don't mind, thank you

Question, if you need to compile something on AROS One, can you bring sources with a Pendrive, and compile directly to the Pendrive or RAM.

EDIT:

Replaced the executable, compiled unintentionallywith use of new C library, Core still not official, attachment executable of the Core old compatible.

It isn't seeing pen drives either I'm afraid :-/ RAM disk is there but of course I would need to copy the output to some persistent storage afterwards.

No problem. I have now made an AROS package and uploaded it to http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/WormWars-AROS.zip

No the Pendrive in FAT32 definitely sees it, FAT32 is well managed, in fact I on Dual Boot Win7/AROS use a FAT32 partition which is shared between the two systems.

I wouldn't want your PC to be unsupported, does the USB Mouse work?

Also, the NTFS PenDrive should be seen if you use ntfs3g-handler, at least it works for me.

Also if you install AROS One on VMWare you can use a folder or network drive shared with Windows, see attached video

It's a FAT32 pen drive. USB keyboard and USB mouse are working.

Very strange it's the first time I've heard this problem, sure it's FA32, if you use Win7 for example format in exFAT which is not supported

Have you tried all USB ports, what PC are you using can you describe the Model.

Regarding "WormWars-AROS.zip", if you like I publish it on http://archives.aros-exec.org/

It's a HP 110. Oddly, a USB pendrive seems to work on the front ports but not the back ones. On Windows they work regardless of which port I use.

Worm Wars 9.3 is already at that site but it would be good if it was updated to the new version.

Worm Wars post the new game, I will report the removal to deadwood.

Regarding the USB Ports, I remember that on some PCs there are differentiated USB ports (v1.0, v1.1, v2.0 etc), maybe that's the problem, on AROS usually v1.1 works fine, I don't know the compatibility with other versions, also because it can vary from core to core

In addition to all the icon series available on AROS One, a new set of Disk Icons with the new AROS One logo has been added!

Updates of the Core, and third-party software on AROS One continue, the new Core (C Library) has integrated well on AROS one, but at the moment the new Core is not complete, so we don't know if it will be available for the next AROS One 2.4, probably it will be for AROS one 2.5 or AROS One 2.6, we'll see.

Hi All,

Development of next release of AROS 32-bit base system is now in progress. We would appreciate if you tested it for compatibility on your current AROS hardware. See this post:

https://arosworld.org/infusions/foru...=200#post_3722

If you prefer using LiveUSB instead of CD-ROM, here is a new tutorial on installing AROS on USB pendrive:

Irritating bug of the month - February 2024
Poll: IBOTM - February 2024

You can vote for a bug to be fixed:

https://www.arosworld.org/infusions/...3834#post_3834

I voted for Bug #115, which more than a Bug, is the creation of a Tab on the Network Prefs App that will allow AROS x86 installed on any PC to connect to the Mobile phone's WiFi network via USB cable.

New look for OWB, I reactivated the favicons and set the default Theme Buttons Black, the new version of OWB (Library C) works very well, you can see Youtube videos.

For those who use VMware will have noticed that on GRUB the keyboard does not work (on VirtualBox it does), so it was not possible to choose and start other items in the Menu.

Today doing a little bit of testing I managed to enable on VMware the keyboard on GRUB, it is a simple operation, once loaded the GRUB just put the Mouse so that the window is active, and press one of the keys "Win" either left or right, done this will activate the keyboard.

Now as on VirtualBox you will be able to use either the Arrow Keys for movement, the "e" key to edit or issue other commands, or the CTRL+x keys to forward typed commands

With this I confirm the presence on the GRUB of AROS One an entry that allows you to directly start "Early Startup Control" for avii Volumes management, run applications such as Dopus4 etc..

Big buzz in the AROS world, I am beta testing some updates and new software for AROS x86, among them are LoView, ProTrekkr and Control Sonos (now also on AROS x86)

Among them is the new 2024 version of LoView by the good Simone Monsignori, it works perfectly, it is in fact the system Viewer for AROS One x86/68k, although AROS One has numerous Viewers.

I chose LoView because of its datatypes support that allows you to view all common graphic formats and more, it also allows SlideShow by clicking on a single image, as well as being able to insert effects and a music base.

LoView will be available soon for all Amigose platforms !

Did anyone recognize this music base
