Looking for an old Amiga website

Hi,
some years ago I learnt quite a bit about setting up a workbench installation from a website that I do not have the link to anymore, unfortunately.

It was a guide spreading over quite some pages and including topics such as addtools and similar MUI, mcp, MagicWB, you name it. And I mean really in detail!

Anyone have an idea what this might have been?? I can't find the site again for the heck of my life.

Cheers,
McT

Thanks a lot - unfortunately, none of them.
It was really a lengthy description what you could install and featured a lot of pro's and con's regarding the available programs.
May as well have been from a mag and transferred to www. I still try to remember specifics but I am failing so far.
It seemed contemporary, like from the 90ies.
Sigh - if only I could tell you more or would have saved the link...

maybe not, but The Green Amiga Alien made a Workbench 3.1 installation guide,
which includes MUI, addons, Icon sets and stuff. WBSetup main page.

Ok - been searching all the time and found it. Just when I was ready to give up. I spent like days!

http://reocities.com/SiliconValley/h...ml/towb01.html

It's 'The Old Workbench', now hosted by reocities. Maybe that's why it was so hard to find.
You just have to live with each reocities' approach to archiving which gives a phishing - alarm.

Thanks for you help!!!

This Old Workbench was also a semi-regular column in Amazing Computing by the same author. The website was originally hosted on Geocities, of course.

Going through it all day since I found it.
Awesome!
Just installed MagicASL and I am really impressed.
I mean, do you know of a similar website/publication/... that would e.g. compare xfd-programs? Usually I just get a comment like 'install this'.
