New floppies for TOSEC (probably)
Hi fellows,
I uploaded to The Zone my dump of F-16 Combat Pilot. It's obtained from my real floppy. You can compare it with this one from TOSEC: F-16 Combat Pilot (1989)(Digital Integration).zip (it's the only one very similar to my dump). I'm 100% sure of my dumps' quality, but, when compared, the two images have differences. I wonder if my version is a slightly different one, or if it is ruined somehow. This would be very strange, since I have no physical errors on the real floppy. And I never overwrote it (saves, records, etc.). Last edited by Supamax; 28 March 2009 at 21:33. |

Hi again,
I also uploaded my dump of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show - disk1. There are only 32 bytes different from my dump and the one from TOSEC (Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show (1989)(MicroValue)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr PNA].zip). Among other differences, in my dump you can read (with a hex editor) "THE LEADERS" instead of "PARANOIMIA", and "ROBOCOP BBS SPREAD!" instead of "PARANOIMIA PRESENTS". I suppose this is an italian BBS hack, so this could be effectively included in TOSEC as a different "version" . Last edited by Supamax; 28 March 2009 at 21:36. |

Another one in the Zone:
The Colony - disk2. There are 224 bytes different from my dump and the one from TOSEC (Colony, The (1990)(Mindscape)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr OCL][a].zip). This time the difference seems to be on an empty space of the disk. Yet, which one is the unmodified dump: mine or TOSEC's ? Last edited by Supamax; 28 March 2009 at 21:36. |

This one will be interesting for you, TCD and mai .
I uploaded Dyter-07 - disk1 and disk2, cracked by Tristar. Disk 2 is identical to Dyter-07 (1990)(reLINE)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr Tristar][h ACU - TFS] from TOSEC. Disk 1 is unmodified and missing from TOSEC, because the only one in TOSEC (by Tristar) has the [v BGS9] tag. (virus?) So my dumps will come in handy . Another one, absolutely missing from TOSEC:
Loom GERMAN, cracked by Vision Factory - disk1 and disk2. Disk 3 is missing, unfortunately, because my third floppy has errors on some files . I tried all possible ways to recover it, but no luck. I could upload the third disk with errors (extended adf); it would be better than nothing, I suppose... Or perhaps some German mate reads this thread and finds it among his floppies, hopefully! The last one for today:
I uploaded my dump of Circus Attractions - disk1, which is different from TOSEC's Circus Attractions (1989)(Rainbow Arts)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr VF].zip. There is only a 9 bytes difference between them, in the bootblock. What do these 9 bytes change? Last edited by Supamax; 28 March 2009 at 21:36. |

What does one care of a 9 byte difference? It could be anything, probably irrelevant.
This is why I always been against TOSEC, it just adds things which are mostly unnecesary. I could upload my disks and they will be different to any TOSEC but I don't believe they are worth anything. There's no "good dump"of pirated software, I believe. Thank ze gods for the SPS! |

There are both good dumps and good cracks. The interesting thing is to find the combination of both With a good crack you don't have the manual protection, which isn't a too bad thing. What TOSEC lacks is an indicator for which disks are complete (nothing removed) and playable till the end.

I do 100% agree with you in case of bad or oversized dumps ([b]/[o]), though. That said, are my uploads appreciated? I have many more to come... |

Edit : Just a thought Supamax Maybe it's better just to name the TOSEC disk here, instead of uploading it to the zone. Almost all disks are available on both Magix sites and the once you don't find there you aren't allowed to upload here either . So just tell us the name of the disk and we can grab them ourselves |

Hi,
I uploaded to The Zone my dump of PaNorAmA Toolkit - 26 November 1986. As usual, it's obtained from my real floppy. I cannot find this release on Magix website, in the folder "TOSEC/Public Domain Collections". It's not a "regular" release, with its release number. Perhaps it's another MIA (Missing In Action). @Supamax: I think its not a big problem, if disk 3 is missing, in most cases you can use the disk 3 of a different crack, there are a few around(TRSi, Supreme, Coca Cola Crew). |

Are all three cracks German? I only know that the Cock-A-Cola one is German.
