Final v1.2 archive now working on WinUAE (I hope!). Grab ATR Xmas from the WHDLoad website!

The source code is included, it's probably a bit difficult now for a "how to do your first install" but too bad!

The updated install works well. Great job to both Codetapper and Toni!
Any chance of seeing an updated slave for the full game by chance or are the two slaves radically different?

The tutorial for the xmas demo still serves its purpose as a great beginning into slave writing. If someone's really serious about it, the WHDLoad docs are there anyway

Thanks Codetapper!

Oh, as for the 030 requirement thing, only a couple of us had that problem anyway, so it was probably just a bad config on our parts

All Terrain Racing (full game) is also complete now (same bugs as the Xmas edition) but I have to repackage it a little, hopefully it will be online tomorrow.

Somebody told me the Xmas demo still doesn't work properly on WinUAE if you only setup chip memory. I tested it and they are correct - WinUAE causes a bunch of exceptions that don't occur with fast memory or on my Amiga, FMODE gets destroyed and the graphics screw up.

So until that is sorted, there's no point releasing a buggy version of ATR.

i would like to kindly ask Codetapper if there is any way a custom tooltype could be added to the game to permanently enable all the tracks on the multiplayer games?

the whd docs say the following;

Quote:
- This cheat was taken from Sweet Cheater by Keith Krellwitz!
In order to play the later tracks in two-player mode you first have to
reach them in single-player game. Then lose a race and enter your name
as "ATR". Now go back to a two-player battle and you can select any of
the hidden tracks.

i'm not overly familiar with the game i admit, (i dont really like it myself) but ive been asked about this for winuae-kaillera online play, as it's quite a popular game online. ive tried altering the scoretable to read "ATR" on every entry, but this doesnt seem to enable to extra tracks on its own sadly. I would imagine playing through the game on one-player every time isnt really convinient for people wanting to jump into a quick match online!

i'm sure there would be some pretty grateful people out there if it were to be added. cheers.

Old thread but anyway, here's a little thing I discovered about WinUAE.

I found out that some problems appear when VSync is enabled. I mean even when your screen can support 50Hz refresh rates.

Simply try ATR without VSync (and don't forget to disable JIT). Don't use the wrap mode. The starting screen should be fine. Odd.

I'm pretty sure those who didn't have any prob here weren't enabling VSync.

See also my post about the mouse delay on some systems when VSync is on.

Did that work for you ?

It's an old topic but can someone upload ATR: All Terrain Racing 1.2 in the zone ? I have 1.1 and it doesn't work. Thanks.

Only ATR Xmas WHD is version v1.2, the original ATR is only v1.1.

Bump. Does this mean it works on Winuae with fast mem enabled ? Then what about releasing this version now ? Even if it's not perfect.

I confirm this bug too, I would say it writes the FMODE randomly on winuae.
Code:
here the wrong code:
$5d62 move.l #$5F84,($88,a6) ;a6=$dff000
the next code is ok:
$5d6a move.l #$5F84,($80,a6)

it should be:
move.l #$5F84,($80,a6)
clr.w ($88,a6)
same thing for the game version.

I tried the fix and it seems to work nicely thanks to Psygore! The Xmas version is in the zone! If there are no further bug reports I'll upload it to the WHDLoad site along with ATR.
