This post has a Zool 2 sheet to use. I will get started on Hare Raising Havoc sometime today.

I had the same issue after installing "Hare Raising Havoc" to hard drive; unfortunately the Skid Row crack doesn't work

Retro-Nerd kindly pointed out the following:

I've seen you do this sort of thing for at least a few people now, so big thumbs up to you!

Just curious as to how exactly you're going about the job of uncovering copy protection codes for different games. Are you using something like HRTMon or AR to hunt down the codes? Is there a one-size-fits-all approach, or is it horses for courses for each game?

Sometimes they are in plain view and only need to be copied. Most frequently I use WinUAE debugger to monitor $dff006. This is used to get a random number. (page, word, line, graphic or whatever). This will usually get you in the vicinity when debugger breaks.

In Virocop case the answers are scrambled a little so a small program is employed to unscramble them.
Code:

        lea cod,a2
        lea xlat,a0
        lea xlat1,a1
        lea dest,a3
loop move.b (a2)+,d0
        beq nline
        cmp.b #$ff,d0
        beq q1x
.2 move.w #36,d1
.3 cmp.b (a0,d1.w),d0
        dbeq d1,.3
        move.b (a1,d1.w),d0
        move.b d0,(a3)+
.1 bra loop
nline move.b #$0a,(a3)+
        bra loop
q1x lea dest,a3
        tst $100
        rts
xlat dc.w $2E2F, $2C2D, $2A2B, $2829, $2627
        dc.w $5F5C, $5D5A, $5B58, $5956, $5754, $5552, $5350, $514E
        dc.b $4F
        dc.b $4C,$4D, $4A,$4B, $48,$49, $46,$47, $44,$3E
xlat1 dc.b "0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ "
cod incbin "\virotable"
dest ds.w 4000
        end

virotable snippet of first two answers:
3E 2D 3E 2F-2F 2D 53 5B-59 5F 5C 47-4A 5B 00 3E  >->//-S[Y_\GJ[ >
2D 3E 2C 3E-2D 4C 5B 5F-4D 51 50 5F-5C 52 47 00  ->,>-L[_MQP_\RG
In Havoc case the $dff006 register is read twice. Once to pick a picture and once to pick a pocket. The graphic is multiplied by 7 and the offset to pocket column is added. The correct answer is looked up in a 105-byte table in memory. I used Blitz basic and the stock Amiga font to print that.

Code wheels just have more steps to do and are harder to represent on a sheet of paper.

Back to the beginning: there is really nobody who would have an original Virocop manual to scan?

Works for me using the AGA version IPF 0415.

Are you using real disks?
