I think the graphics are by Ashley Cunningham - and some posts online suggest he has died

Are there any noticeable differences between the '96/'97 Special Editions? I cannot see any... And the only difference between the original and the Special Editions seems to be that Charlie is wearing a Santa costume in the SE versions.
Edit: Sad to hear, but isn't Ashley a girl's name? Last edited by hipoonios; 04 September 2017 at 07:08. |

In an old thread, an EAB member called amigang said that he bought the 50 game pack. Unfortunately some of his game disks had errors. Still probably worth sending him a PM or email, even if it's just to see if he can remember whether either of the MIA Charlie Chimp games were in the pack or not. http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=115 http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=732169&postcount=53 http://www.vincentperkins.com/AmigaNG/copyright.php (website/email) http://aminet.net/package/game/misc/amigang (alternative email) Last edited by DrBong; 06 September 2017 at 21:30. |

Thank you Carlo; your research skills are invaluable!!!
...not that it's really anything to go on, but considering "Charlie Chimp and the City of Atlantis" is the 3rd game in the "Dizzy" style games and the 4th has been found; I would hope that this does indeed exist I will follow up with "amigang" and see if we can get some good news my friend |

JOKER POKER! --------------- The most addictive game you'll ever play! <description snipped> . . . We've included Raise Ante, Hi/Lo Gambles, Bonuses, Five of a kind, Jokers, Hold after wins and all the other best bits of every poker machine we could find! This is not a game its the real thing! Price £10.00 which includes 37 other great card games! Or order our 50 games pack and get ALL of the above games and 14 other top notch commercial quality games for the all in price of just £14.99! The question is whether the "14 other top notch commercial quality games" included all the other advertised games in the catalogue (i.e. Charlie Chimp 1&2, Charlie Chimp and the Treasure of Tutankhamun, Charlie Chimp and the Stolen Crown Jewels, Wrath of Gwendor, Seemore Doolittle's Underwater Capers). What I can tell you is that there are definitely a few Reality Construction Kit games that weren't advertised in that Jan '96 catalogue [Seemore Doolittle's Toyland Capers, Egor in Toyland, Egor's Quest, Ultra Space Invaders (free with Egor in Toyland), Platform Duellers (unfinished Bomberman clone by the Egor developer]. Hopefully this provides us with some prospect that the MIA "Charlie Chimp and the City of Atlantis" actually made it out into the wild in some form and can be tracked down! Hi guys, its so long ago since I bought that 50 game pack, firstly let me say it wasn't worth it, like DrBong pointed out, a lot of them where poker games,
, I think I had 4 games of Charlie Chimp, two of them where platform games and think where just named Charlie Chip 1 & 2, the other two where dizzy type games, one was Treasure of Tutankhamun and I think the other was The Great Escape, if I recall correctly, most games weren't all that impressive, the only one I think was a hidden gem that I've not seen anyone online since was a beat em up game made in reality, but the controls and animation where pretty poor, when I went back through my disks I did try to find them all but I must of chucked them out and the few that I did find didn't seem to read well on my floppy drive. Sorry best of luck finding them. |

is there any chance that Charlie Chimp and the Stolen Crown Jewels and Charlie Chimp and the City of Atlantis were vaporware?
i've seen this sort of thing in the past where a game was in the works with screenshots and open to pre order only to never see the light of day. crimewave on the ps1 for example. does anyone remember actually playing these two games in the past? i got a feeling maybe they were advertised while in beta phase and something happend and the games were never completed or completed but never saw the light of day. i know earlier in the thread that hipoonios remembered playing a dizzy style charlie chimp game so hopefully hipoonios memory is spot on and at least one of these games is out there somewhere but it's easy to be mistaken.
