Recommended games on the CD32?

I won an online auction for a CD32 console, and will pick it up at the post office today. There weren't any joypads included so I've ordered two Boomerang pads from amigakit.

And while I wait I surf HOL and lemon to look at what games that would make a perfect fit for the CD32. I understand that most of the games are Amiga ports, but there must be some gems out there? Games that are superb to play on a real CD32?

Please, try to replace Boomerang joypads with something else... Bump'n'Burn for CD32 is really fun and no more long loadings.

Yeah, I read a couple of threads here about the optimal joypad. But the ones that were mentioned are either very hard or impossible to get hold off. I'm not prepared to empty my pockets on old controllers from fleabay.

Will give Bump a try. It looks very similar to Mariokart.

Try Pirates! Gold, Wing Commander or Flink. At least none of these disk to cd releases.

Ohhh, you really need to replace those Boomerang pads! Even if you find some original Commodore ones, and just replace the D-pad in them. Hopefully we'll have comercially available PS2-CD32 adapters soon though.

Get Liberation: Captive 2, Microcosm, Fightin' Spirit, Ultimate Body Blows, Marvin's Marvelous Adventure, Banshee, Simon the Sorcerer, and those games already mentioned. There are plenty of great games that improve on the Amiga versions for the CD32.

Is it possible to easily replace the D-Pad on the Commodore CD32 pad - My D-Pad has become loose.

If not ill probably get one of those PSX adapters they cost about the same as CD32 pad.

Not many fans of the Boomerang. What's so bad about it exactly? I've read some complaints about cheap plastic feel and clicking sound from buttons.

I may check out the PSX adapter. Hmmm...although my Mastercard has been busy these days. I've allready blown away some money on a couple of Competition Pro USB joysticks for use with WinUAE.

Thanks for all the good game recommendations. All AGA games I've never tried as I only own the A500.

Boomerang is very unresponsive (buttons and d-pad) so it's hard to play anything.

The Misadventures of Flink
Brian the Lion
Super Stardust
Liberation : Captive 2
The Speris Legacy
James Pond 2 : Robocod
James Pond 3 : Operation StarFish
Benefactor
Pinball (*)
Chaos Engine (although some people hate the CD audio)
Cannon Fodder
Xenon II - CDTV

Probably more I cannot even think about right now...

Beneath a Steel Sky
Defender of the Crown II

There are a lot of good games for the CD32, but they're mostly just straight ports from the Amiga.

I recommend All Terrain Racing and Beneath a Steel Sky. Beneath the Steel Sky is freeware now so feel free to grab it off of any torrent.

For me it has to be between Doodlebug and Tin Toy on that disk if you like platformers.
