It is illegal to scan someone else's work and then distribute it on DVD for a profit. It doesn't matter how long it took to scan it all. The scans are of someone else's copyrighted material.

If he were following the Rom Burner code of practice and offering the scans on disc for the price of the blank media plus shipping then OK, he would be doing it with the intention of archival and preservation, and offering a service to those incapable of waiting for the same files to download, but at £12 a disc, it comes across that he scanned them with the intent to always make a profit (no matter how small). No one should be involved in such a project if they expect to make money as a thank you for their efforts. That isn't, and should be the point of doing such a project. It should be for preservation.

Mort doesn't make any profit......all the money goes back into buying computer mags (mostly from Ebay) for scanning and new scanners once he's worn them out. He's been scanning whole computer mag collections for years......well before anyone else bothered to preserve them. What's more, he bothers to source and scan obscure computer mags that otherwise might not ever be available to the masses, rather than just purely focus on the popular computer mags. If you're so bothered by what Mort does, then feel free to buy up all the computer mag collections currently unavailable on the torrent sites, scan them and then torrent them or sell them to everyone here and elsewhere on the net for the price of the media + p&p. We'll all be waiting with baited breath........

Hi,
Got the DVDs some months ago but last 5 magazines (from 06/1998 to 10/1998) are damaged.
Could someone compile these mags and put it in the zone please?

Hi Alfa,

Those magazine compilations are huge - far too big for the Zone!

06/1998: 58MB
07/1998: 56.7MB
08/1998: 55.8MB
09/1998: 58.5MB
10/1998: 50.5MB

These files (and all the others) are intact on my copy.

PM me your details, and I'll send you either a CD-R with copies of those magazines on it or a DVD-R with a copy of CU Amiga DVD2 on it - the choice is yours!

If your original CUAmiga DVD2 is giving read errors, then you're quite welcome to a copy of mine. I ask for no payment either.

I placed my order for this DVD last night. I also ordered the CVG set - this was my all time favourite non-amiga mag
