(Real) music that reminds you of the Amiga :)

I play in covers band that does mainly mod/punk/alternative stuff from the late 70s to early 80s (and some modern stuff) and although we do really well, I'm kinda getting bored with that.

In the process of setting up a new band that covers late 80s/90s music which as you know, was the Amiga's heyday and I'm interested in hearing what music you guys associate with that era. Maybe what you used to blast out while playing, etc.

It's about appealing to a certain age group, so anything considered, it's all good

LMAO, that Bilinski guy had an attendence of 50k at two of his concerts according to the Youtube info. The Po Dra... The Pu Dru... The Po Druge... The Vinyl Record tune was very Amigaish. Pretty good stuff.

Therapy

For me its synthpop shite like Erasure (Chorus, Wild), first four Depeche Mode albums (and The Singles 81-85) and similar 80s and early 90s boring pop.
Plus Alice Cooper's albums Trash and Hey Stoopid.

Modern Talking, CC Catch and Blue System I associate with 80s and ZX Spectrum, I used to listen to these as a kid a lot. My musical taste has changed drastically since then. Thank God

"Evanescence - Weight Of The World" sounds as if it belongs with the Agony gameplay music.

I still listen to that synthpop "shite", and proud! Erasure's "Chorus"/"I Say I Say I Say", Depeche Mode's "Black Celebration"/"Music For The Masses"/"Violator", Pet Shop Boys' "Behaviour", New Order's "Technique"... good shit. That was the music on which I was raised!

I always loved how the Lotus 2 music for different courses reminded me of other songs... the 'Night Course' was Depeche Mode, the 'Marsh Course' reminded me of The Stranglers, the 'Storm Course' reminded me a lot of The Cult...

I may be generalising a bit here, but going off various module instrument-messages, startup-sequences, stuff in disk magazines etc. It seemed like many people associated with the Amiga were listening to synth-pop stuff, goth-y stuff (The Cure/Cult/Sisters...), acieeeed house/rave stuff, or hard rock/heavy metal like Metallica/Def Leppard, stuff like that. Metal has always seemed popular in the Scandinavian countries especially... \m/

Me too. Although it also reminds me of Depeche Mode at the same time... must be the chord progression!

I'm sure this won't be to most of your tastes, but check this and see if anyone recognizes it & where you've heard it before:

And can never get enough of this:

I remember you could actually buy it on CD but could never find a copy for sale (was probably too late), so just recorded it all off myself

Saw the movie "Fletch" recently, the soundtrack reminds me of Amiga for some reason.

What's 'real music' supposed to be? I thought all music was real?
