Btw, I did solve my problem - I was getting the gpatch dir conflicting with the gpatch program - I renamed the dir and problem went away.

Hi Milfos, I finally got the patched KS1.3 rom file burnt (thanks Kipper) but neither of us can get it to work - CF HDD just never shows up even if properly prepared on winUAE first. The only thing that does work is setting up the disk and partitions works fine but the icons never appear on WB - i was able to quick format the partitions created on my a500 in WinUAE without any dramas at all and install WB1.3 but once back in my a500 the CF HDD still doesn't show up.
I also noticed that if I type "version scsi.device" it responds with version 43.45 - is that correct, seems a bit high? Isnt that for OS3.9+? Last edited by dJOS; 31 December 2013 at 13:05. |

Did you install a 1.3 compatible ffs onto the RDB? Is the disk visible in hdtoolbox in the A500?

Does C:Info show all partition(s)? "Not a DOS disk" or something else?

It was pointed out to me via PM that I should be using win UAE's ide driver not the uae driver - when I try this I get the same result as my a 500, no booting from the cf card.

I have a patched kick1.3 and no CF will boot unless I prep it in WinUAE with the A2091 install disk. You need to select SCSI6 as the HD controller.
If you can successfully prep the card with this disk then it will boot on your Amiga. Weird but true, works for me every time |

Ok I've tried your method Arnie and no joy (I cant even see the CF card in HDToolBox) - I suspect it's the version of SCSI.device that is the issue. when I get time i'll create a new patched 1.3 rom with the KS3.1 scsi.device instead of 43.45 version.

Could be the card, what brand are you using?
Also try HDInsttools as an alternative to hdtoolbox. |

I was using a SanDisk 32Mb in UAE which I discovered is no good for using as a CF HDD.
My main one is a Yum Cha 1GB unit which I've had working in a 500+ with WB3.1 as a CF-HDD with no issues. Amusingly I just tried the a2091 install disk on my a500 and HDToolBox shows my CF-HDD and lets me define the drive and partition it etc but I still cant see DH0 & DH1 icons even after a reboot. Come to think of it I might have had PFS on this CF card at one point, is it possible something is left over and causing my dramas? Last edited by prowler; 02 January 2014 at 21:41. Maybe. Just format it as ofs and test if it boots. And make sure the partition isn't too big etc.

Nup, even an OFS partition of 100MB doesnt appear.
I even tried the "Reselect" Tool but the partitions just refuse to automount. |
