AMFV (A Mind Forever Voyaging) ADF - For Those Who Want It

After much thought, I've decided to create an ADF of the classic (and very rare) Infocom title A Mind Forever Voyaging. If you like sci-fi interactive fiction, this is considered one of the best of all time, deeply inspired by Reagan-era political angst. This game, for the Amiga, is extremely hard to find. Well, it used to be.

More here.

Cheers

A for effort! We're a pretty resourceful lot here at EAB, though......

Seeing you're in the U.S., keep an eye out for original copies of Monkey Business or Delta Patrol (both released by the The Other Valley Software in 1985)......finding originals of those would be really something. In the case of Monkey Business, I'd settle just for a cracked version!

Hi Dr Bong

The OldGamesFinder doesn't actually have any ADF files. The one it links to on Lemon doesn't exist. It's basically a link to a page that links to other places that don't have it. I checked there.

The other leads to grandis.nu, which requires an FTP username and password.

I'm making my ADF freely accessible to any who wish to actually download and play the game. I will definitely put your other two titles on my radar, though. Delta Patrol looks like Choplifter in the screenshot. Monkey Business - a Donkey Kong clone? I'll keep some feelers out.

Are you sure Delta Patrol was even released for Amiga? Wikipedia lists it as only for the C64 and ZX Spectrum.

I know. The IPF can be used directly under emulation like an ADF, otherwise it can be converted into an ADF given the game isn't heavily protected.

Works here using Firefox. The link is to the EAB server, so no login/pass are needed for downloads. Try the direct link below (also includes a cracker's compilation with the game), or another browser if problems persist.

Anyway, why there's a standalone ADF of this Infocom classic on the EAB server and not one in TOSEC yet is anyone's guess, so the more places hosting an ADF the merrier!

Yep, the HOL entry linked in the last post shows screenshots. Cracked versions are also available.

I've only ever seen one copy of Delta Patrol for sale and that went for about $300-400 on Ebay a couple of years ago (see pics below). Suffice to say I was outbid!

Several years ago the same seller also sold a copy of Monkey Business (yep, a Donkey Kong clone). Even back in 1996 the game was considered "extremely rare", so much so that the seller thought he should advertise it as such!

Thanks for the links - the direct link worked fine (I'll be making note of that directory).

FWIW, I'm on the most recent version of Chrome. Whatever permissions issue I was seeing originally is not longer occurring. The links allow direct access now.

Any plans on making these directories more easily accessible - or it is best to keep them a bit "off the grid"? I can't wait to browse all of this stuff.

Thanks

You can browse the EAB File Server more easily by following this 1st post in the related thread:

I've contacted TOSEC and they are very interested. I will continue down that path for now.
