Serial to usb + Amiga Explorer?

Hello,

Once again I'm going to try to get my A1200's harddisk contents on to my laptop. After some reading, I'm now considering this:

Using Amiga Explorer together with a DB25 to USB cable (my laptop has no serial ports). I'm thinking of buying this one:

The thing is, I can't find any female DB25 to usb adapters. Would this work with a gender changer?
Any suggestions as for cable brands etc? I would be so happy to get my old A1200 setup running through e-uae.

Not sure about the one you've linked too.

But I use this with a 9 - 25pin adapter. (works with Win 7 too)

If you're after the cable/adapter (null modem cable) that go from what I've linked to that above I can get hold of them for nothing and send you one - just pay P&P to Netherlands which I doubt will be much.

Just to make you aware it won't be quick!

Hmm, not sure if everyone here understood each other, so I guess just for the sake of redundancy, I'll offer an answer too:

- yes, usb -> rs232 adapters work most of the time, some of the cheapest ones are not fully compatible with all rs232 devices.
- you will need a null modem cable in addition to the usb -> rs232 adapter.
