Amiga and isa network cards

In all the time i have spent looking for networking ISA cards on the A2000 I have yet to see any mention of netbios or ipx spx on the amiga seems that PC might use it to play net games why not to network an amiga 2000 to a PC network?? Anyone know why?

Any PC and Amiga Guru to answer this one?

The ISA slots in an Amiga are not connected to the system. You need a PC bridge card to activate them, then the PC can use the slots. There is software to make ISA network cards availavle for Amiga OS through the PC bridge card.

I seem to remember reading about an Amiga Client for Netware networks, that would give you IPX/SPX. Not for games though, I'm not aware of any Amiga games that support IPX network gaming with their PC counterparts.

If you install Samba or SMBFS, you can connect to NetBIOS over TCP/IP servers (NetBT).

I'm not 100% certain on how well Samba works with NetBT, but I expect someone will let me know soon enough if it was wrong. ;-)
