Normally all you have to do is use Winrar to unpack them. Thay would probably already be in adf format.

Hi,

You'll need to extract these RAR files to get at the contents (they're like ZIP files but using a different compression method). Although you can probably find datatypes to deal with RAR natively on the Amiga, you'll probably be better off extracting these on a PC.

If you don't have anything that deals with RAR files, I'd recommend 7Zip from http://www.7-zip.org/ - it's free and deals with all sorts of archive formats. It runs on Windows or in Linux via WINE.

EDIT: D'oh! Beaten to it by a millisecond!

Guys these are WHDLoad packs. They will not be .adf files...

Also, I seem to remember a thread about unpacking these... There are issues when extacting from the PC. Everything looks ok but I think file names go funny. You should unpack on the Amiga

KG or another memeber can probably explain this better as I still don't use WHDLoad or these fine packs...

Damien is right, I have just checked and these are WHD files. It is more complicated than I thought since they are not in adf format.

No, it's not a waste of time. You can play WDLoad games with WinUAE.
You just need to download WHDLoad from here install it on your emulated Amiga and off you go. Best thing is to register WHDLoad and support the WHDLoad team.

No you can use them on a "real" or "emulated" Amiga

You need to use WHDLoad http://www.whdload.de/

You'll be able to find guides on how to set this up here: The Green Amiga Alien Guides http://guide.abime.net/

Thanks to Paul for all his hard work with these

Hey Donz,

Here's what you need to do:

... Go to http://guide.abime.net/ and enter the site.
... Select Workbench 3.1 http://guide.abime.net/home3.htm
... Read of some of the chapters which will deal with setting up a HD, installing Workbench 3.1 and also setting up WHDLoad.

Danz,
You need KS3.0 or KS3.1 to have everything running nicely.

If you have problems installing Workbench, why don't you try to use preinstalled setups such as ClassicWB.

The one you need to run with WinUAR is P96, but the rest of them will work as well. If that does not work, then try to search for AIAB.

Both of those will work fine with WHDLoad games and you don't have to install WHDLoad. (Just follow instructions )
