Faulty A601 due to Battery Leak
I got an used A600 and it unexpectedly came with an A601 Memory Expansion.
After testing with Sysinfo I thinks it's totally dead as it only shows 1M Chipram when plugged in to my A600! I cut off the metal casing of my A601 and the clock battery has leaked and caused corrosion, I desoldered the leaking battery and cleaned the board best I could. If the leaking battery cause it to break I arent sure. Any idea if it could be repaired, I dont think any tracks have been damaged just the green layer, anythything I could check. I would imagine the Memory expansion would work, as the battery is just for the Real Time Clock! |

The electrolyte has eaten away the tracks that go to the two SMT components near the D912 text.. Probably more.
Dig out the schematics and verify/repair the connections. This is feasible to repair, the design itself is relatively simple |
