It would be cool, to know all the possible config options for the uaerc file to setup a custom config file. In PUAE menu bar I can set, i.e., as CPU the 68030 processor. But if I set this as config option PUAE always use 68000.

yeah, i should do that actually..

several people offered to help with GUI coding before for QT, GTK, Cocoa
but i never heard from them again
so i did what i could on my own in my very little spare time.

QT came to a halt when i noticed i can't thread gui from emulation and should do the opposite, thread emulation from QT. so i decided to work on it when i can spare more time.

my priority is core emulation then gui so i can't spare time for it for now.

if you're up to it, i'm sure a lot of people would be very happy to have QT gui. (and QT sound and QT video)

philanthrop, I am one of those that Gnostic mentions, but I've simply not got the coding skills... I think I'm limited to building, and tinkering around the edges . I'd be happy to support you all I can if you start down the route of Qt, as I think it'd make PUAE superb.

GnoStic, how's it going with the quickstarts? I think those'd be really helpful!

Bit of a silly question, will this compile for Amiga OS4.x like E-UAE?

How hard is it for us to commit code for it, since I have another platform which it should support, mostly buildscript changes?

Not certain excactly what goes wrong, to be honest.... I start on the top, by apt-get install <insert all the various dependcies and all that stuff>, the I cd into the git'ed drawer where the PUAE-source is.

I then do the ./configure --with-sdl-gfx --with-sdl-sound and it exits with error

checking for zlib.h... no
configure: error: Check for libz failed

and I can't find zlib with apt-get

I find the homepage (zlib.net) easy enough, but I've no idea where to put the actual sourcecode for zlib.

So it's just easier (for me, at least) if there's someone else is using Ubuntu Meerkat

Does 'apt-get install zlib1g-dev' help?

One more bug report. In Mac version PUAE will crash on reboot if bsdsocket libtrary emulation is turned on. In console there will be a "Bus error". Without this option, PUAE will reboot properly

And I did follow that, as I said... so why it can't find zlib is beyond me. After installing the zlib.dev package, ./configure worked.

However:

At least I'm one step further.... no I just need to figure out this.

Gnostic, mayhaps include "apt-get install zlib1g-dev" as well... because it didn't say about the zlib1g dev package in the "recipe" only the normal zlib1g

btw, I get the same error both with and without the -sdl*** options from /.configure

Mac OS X built with tonight's commit from GnoStiC

Changes are really to fix keyboard (SDL keymapping).

Yeah! Basically it works, but:

I get only a QWERTY keyboard, no QWERTZ. It seems, that if we use raw key mapping, we only get an english keyboard layout. Can you check this?

(In config file there is set "kbd_lang=de" and in "Input" there is choose "german" for keyboard layout)

I only see yellowish colors in Fullscreen mode on Mac OS X if I don't set "sdl.use_gl=true" in config file.

I can confirm you that using ocs or ecs in linux 64 bits, you will get a yellowish colours... Gnostic knows about this bug and he will tell when he has solved it.

@GnoStiC:

I propose to delete the repository files generated by build system:

Code:
./config.guess
./config.sub
./src/md-fpp.h
./src/target.h
./src/tools/blitops.c
./src/tools/build68k.c
./src/tools/genblitter.c
./src/tools/gencomp.c
./src/tools/gencpu.c
./src/tools/genlinetoscr.c
./src/tools/missing.c
./src/tools/readcpu.c
./src/tools/writelog.c
Most of these files are symlinks and generated by configure script.
