Double dragon 2 AGA fixed
as I want to create 1 floppy disk of this game ,I was trying several cracks in floppy disks for my A1200 and none of them works, not even using relokick 141
there is a ECS fixed version but not works on AGA neither, it seems only works on the A500+ or the A600 does a fixed flopppy AGA version exists? |

Maybe you could use the WHDload package on a floppy?
As I read here http://www.whdload.de/games/DoubleDragon2.html the copy protection actually caused the game to non working on AGA Amigas. |

I made a couple of adfs of the AGA fixed WHDLoad version (Zoned).
Please test. The bad news is that at least 1MB additional fast ram is required on A1200. It's a tight fit, only 1kb left on the disk. I had to compress the title mod and use JST to load the slave into RAM as WHDLoad takes up too much space on the disk. Oh and bloody hell, I didn't know LZX 68000 version can't use -9 parameter for max compression... Installed 1.21 020 Y2K version instead and managed to squeeze the lzx down so it fits on a standard OFS disk, just barely.. Last edited by Retroplay; 24 October 2018 at 18:45. |

Excuse me, what purpose does it have to create adf versions of a game that then requires more memory than it normally would if loaded from floppies ?
A standard A1200 2MB user will never use that floppy. |

OP asked for an AGA compatible floppy version, that's all.
And since none of the available cracked versions work on A1200 this is the best I could come up with. |

Maybe WHDLoadCD32 could also work on the A1200? Since it's meant to be used for an unexpanded CD32?

I have been checking your disk and was a good idea to decrunch the game to RAM in lzx then launch it from there works fine in my A1200 I tested it btw, for the game to use less memory perhaps there is a way to crunch the game using xpk, whdload support load xpk files , but the program JST you used don't support it anyways I doubt this game will fit on 1 disk, because also you need to add to the disk xpkmaster.library and whload is larger than JST in size but who knows. maybe is possible |

I did try to compress all data files with RNC Propack but that resulted in unsupported or damaged files in WHDLoad. Quote:
People would just have used CD32 version instead to avoid coughing up the measly 20 quid it cost to register. Last edited by Retroplay; 25 October 2018 at 16:32. |

I crunched all the files in the dd2_data directory and according to dopus 5 the directory contain now 757.621 bytes I used the gzip packer from xpk library to crunch all the files I tested the game crunched running from workbench and works ok the problem is that whdload and xpkmaster.library must go also on the floppy, which both files adds about 150k to the disk this game requires whdload v17 which is around 130k, is there a tiny version of whdload? I have been testing and it seems pploadseg works for generic files not for whdload the main problem is that whdload v17 is 130k and don't crunch very well, around 10% only I copied tha data files to a floppy FFS formated floppy+ xpkmaster.library which is 16k , and left 60k free on disk ( whdload don't fit) existing a whdload clone with xpk support < 60k :this could work |

So a standard A1200 can play this game. |
