never saw this A3000 before, is it too common so u butchered it? like an A500 ??? what where the original specs?

Yes, the keys are still readable, though the blue were not quite as intended.

Not too uncommon - I've had this one since new.

Teddy belongs to my daughter.

Maybe they were popular here, but i don't know any friend who owned one back in time. Strange color design, but always a matter of taste.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Given Acorn really p*ssed the Amiga community off when they released this computer... can't copyright a number you see and Acorn thought it would improve sales... I was wondering if old issues would surface.

But I forget this is the EAB

For any who are interested I'm doing a custom install of XP ( to look like RiscOS ) then I'll throw a bunch of emulators + Oolite @ it.

i wouldnt mind getting one of they strongarm riscpc acorn system, they look snazzy. anyone tried the pc emu card in an acorn?

It runs at about 1/2 the speed of a decent 486. With the fastest strong ARM processor module it is faster to run a software emulation I think.

Yep - that's about the size of it...

In their day RiscPC's were d*mn good computers & RiscOS a great OS - it does have it's frailties but you could/can do some very

things with it, and have been able to for years...

Clones are still made, the OS(s) is/are still being developed, software is still being devoloped - at a glacial rate. ( All tends to be a bit expensive )

If you're interested you do see 'fully loaded' SA-RiscPC's on fleaBay + lots of pre-installed software for buttons.

There is a very good commercial emulator: VirtualRPC, or (much slower) free one: RedSquirrel ( among others ) if space is an issue.
Just don't mention me on the V_RPC forum - it's been a long time but my name may still be mud...

Don't expect much of a RiscOS 'scene'. Games etc do exist - some great originals, though mostly Amiga conversions. The majority still use their machines as general workhorses because of the very comfortable enviroment & 'ageless hardware/software' rather than retro/hobby.

Ooo-errr - I'm rambling again.
