which kind of person throws out a working Amiga?

Just found a working amiga 500 with memory in the trapdoor, PSU, "the arcade" Joystick, action replay, Supra ram 500rx and Alfa power HDD case.
The last two is unpopulated though, so a bit tough to see if they work.

Someone who doesn't know that he would actually get some quid for it on eBay
Nice find and fingers crossed the last work as well

Very common perhaps - e.g. my parents would probably have thrown out my A500+ if I had not asked to keep it and take it with me to my new home.

Hopefully someone here can help you out with some zip ram
Even if you're 'forced' to sell it, it's at least not lost then.

Does she have a big shoe collection? Then you have a good chance to win this "fight".

thats what i thought.... might fix it up with some new caps.
i can see that there is empty pads for ram on the main board... what would it take to populated that?... i guess that i would need a new agnus.
the socket does say fat agnus, but i guess that it might be a standard agnus in there

I found a Apple ][e in the trash full setup 100% working 4 years ago and just
about 2 months ago the same person was tossing a amiga 2000 out with
a 1084 2 floppy drives KS 1.3 and software...
I was going to give the guy my number so if he had anything else he could call but he said that was the last of the computer stuff left over from his son
and he told dad just to toss it...

I was very happy always wanted a 2000..

In the UK, you wouldn't be guaranteed to get much more than £10 on ebay for an A500. Not worth the effort.

There were just too many of them made.

If I was getting rid of my A500 it would go to the bin before mess about with eBay & posting etc.

That sure sucks Amiga people trowing away Amigas It's quite insane Also says something about the time we live in: It doesn't matter that it still works properly, just throw it away Really, really sucks
