Complete list of ROM's that WinUAE 0.9.90 will autodetect?
I notice that in the registry, in the 'WinUAE\DetectedROMs' key, the autodetected ROM's are stored as:
ROM06 (for Kickstart v1.3 (A500,A1000,A2000) rev 34.5 (256k)) ROM07 (for Kickstart v2.04 (A500+) rev 37.175 (512k)) ROM14 (for Kickstart v3.1 (A500,A600,A2000) rev 40.63 (512k)) etc. etc. I'd be interested to know the complete list of ROM's that WinUAE 0.9.90 will autodetect, including the exact kickstart version and the corresponding Amiga model(s) as above. As well as mainly out of general interest, another reason for asking is because what I thought was an A1200 3.1 ROM is being detected as an A4000 3.1 ROM, whereas 3.0 ROM's for the A1200 and the A4000 are detected separately. I didn't think this was a problem, but running a basic A1200 config with an A4000 3.1 ROM won't allow me to select anything below a 68020 (ie. not a 68EC020). Thanks! Steve. |

Every offical Rom is supported, from 1.0 to 3.1.
No Beta- or "internal release"-Roms are supported. |

I was hoping for a lot more detail (a list similar to my original post would be ideal), because for example there are at least three versions of the 3.1 ROM (A1200, A4000, A500/2000), and the same applies to many other ROM's. That's why the ROM version and the exact Kickstart version (ie. 3.1, 40.63) would be handy, to know whether or not WinUAE will autodetect it, and as what Amiga model. To put it another way, could people please look in their Windows Registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Arabuusimiehet\WinUAE\DetectedROMs\) and fill in the gaps below, I'm sure between a few of us we can come up with a complete list: ROM01 ROM02 ROM03 ROM04 ROM05 ROM06 - Kickstart v1.3 (A500,A1000,A2000) rev 34.5 (256k) ROM07 - Kickstart v2.04 (A500+) rev 37.175 (512k) ROM08 ROM09 ROM10 ROM11 ROM12 ROM13 ROM14 - Kickstart v3.1 (A500,A600,A2000) rev 40.63 (512k) ROM15 (don't know how long the list is!) Many thanks in advance, Steve. |

Hmm ... this thread makes me think about another idea:
WinUAE could output a warning message if the user tries to use an A3000 ROM, giving the user the information that he cannot use this rom with the emulator. Toni? |

Thanks WindowsKiller and bippym, that's exactly what I was after!
Looks like there's a bit of work to do on all my configs! Steve. |

I rename my two CD32 roms to the bolded bits above, but WinUAE still doesn't recognise them... are these the right names, or am I likely to have bad rom dumps? |

Basically the 2 ROMs you have are not being recognised because they are corrupt, fake, beta, internal, not supported or any combination of these things. Renaming them will not change anything, the only reason names have been given is because they correspond to the TOSEC nameing conventions that most of us use. |

Here's the missing entry from the list:
"ROM00"="rom.key" It's from the amigaforever package. |

I have each of those roms except for the following:
"ROM04" = "Kickstart v1.2 (A1000)" version: 33.166, size: 262144 Would this rom be available in the Cloanto package? I've looked for it on p2p with no success. Does anybody know the official Tosec name for it, please? |

All of ROM01 - ROM04 appear self-made to me, since A1000 kickstarts were rather shipped on DISK than on hardware
So if you have an image of the KS 1.2/33.166 disk for A1000, you shouldn't have big problems in creating the *.ROM file |

Just strip the bootblock off the kickstart disk's ADF and trim the file to the correct size.
