Easy solution: if you finish outside top 11 you get 1 point (if you've submitted a score).

Got to the end again with 1 life more:

538,210

Almost finished the game with 4 lives which would've meant an additional 100k.

And that was one of the options, but it was not the one that the competitors at that time choose.

Personally I think the current system is far superior to the previous one. And i think the main reason is that there is a points incentive for every position to increase their score. (if i am going to keep commenting about it I might need to post a score too )

Game completed!

There we are, I've almost kept all the lives, lost just one so my score is:

721110

(big pictures this time...)

My score is certainly beatable, I didn't care of killing the enemies in "better ways" in order to gain points and I took the shortest path on Vegetablia, so... c'mon guys!

I see. Okay, for most games it seems to be better.

Well I've had quite a few attempts, though it's a casual score for what will be a very casual year from me.
Congrats to those of you who managed to make it far in this.. it's real test of patience without guides! Also nice to see a good turn out for the first round
As for the scoring issue.. I think I did vote for current system but yeh, I agree with john & lonewolf. Though round 1 is probably not the most optimal time for such issues to arise

Understandable after four active years. Looking forward to a competitive season with capehorn, Chris, eMTe, Harry, Lines, lifeschool, liviux, mihcael, Predseda, blade (hopefully) and others then.

Me too... once I lost a life against the fat guy... other times I lost one or more lives somewhere, even in the stage just before the fat guy... it's sad to screw up a perfect play for a stupid mistake...

I cant even remember what I voted for in the scoring poll, but I seem to think the one voted wasnt what I voted for, and maybe there were too many options. I'll start a new thread about this on Lemon, so if you guys have the solution, or a good way to do this, why not share your voice over there, and we can look at this again?

This round is now over.

Well done to liviux76 for securing first place. john4p ended up in second, with LinesMachine taking the bronze.

Also congratulations to lifeschool and mihcael for becoming the third and fourth players respectively to make 100 appearances in the competition.

EAB take the first team victory of the year.

New standings thread (for what it's worth at this stage), new game thread and new voting thread will follow soon.
