EAB Games League Season 1 Round 3 - Apidya

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's...

Apidya

The rules for this competition are in this thread. Here's a quick run-down though:

- The round starts at 12:00am UK time on Monday, July 2, and finishes at 11:59pm UK time on Friday, July 20.

- Scores can only be posted during the time of the round, any scores posted outside of this period won't count.

- You can play on a real Amiga or an emulator, whatever you prefer.

- If you can, take screenshots or use a digital camera/mobile phone to provide proof of your score, however if you are unable to do this then you can upload your high-score file as confirmation. You should also write your score in your post.

- Anyone can enter at any time, and you can post as many scores as you want during the round. Of course, only your highest score will count towards the final standings.

- Between July 7 and July 13 the voting will take place for the fourth round's game, a thread containing details will be created nearer the time.

- At the end of the round, the player with the highest score gets 12 points, 2nd place gets 10, 3rd 8, 4th 7, 5th 6, 6th 5, 7th 4, 8th 3, 9th 2 and 10th 1 (assuming that many people take part).

- No cheating! No using save states, cheat codes, trainers or anything like that, and no modifying scores in any way. This competition is just a bit of fun and hopefully no-one will sink that low. However, if you genuinely suspect someone has cheated in any way, please PM me and I'll look into it. If I find someone guilty of cheating, they will be banned from the league for the entire season.

READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START

- The following options must be set:

Quote:
Level: Normal
Lives: 3
Teammode: No
1UP: Every 20000
The other options are down to personal preference.

- Continues are not allowed, as stated in the rules. (Not that there's much point in Apidya, as you will lose your score.)

I think that's it. If you have any questions, you can either post them in this thread or in the Rules thread. Thanks and have fun!

Final Scores:

1. VermillioN - 202,100
2. hipoonios - 128,242
3. cadaver - 107,856
4. mailman - 87,010
5. Graham Humphrey - 85,360
6. Magno Boots - 36,260

Bah! I was well on my way to nailing mailman's score but that massive fish boss on stage 2 did for me, I kept getting trapped...

It's alright I got a screenie of current progress saved.. plus I'm playing it on a laptop... which is plugged into the UPS... (Only spare socket around)

lol.. so if there is a power cut, as long as it doesn't last more than about 5 hours it'll be fine

A quick question guys. When you enter the carp's (it's a carp isn't it?) mouth for a hidden bonus stage do you need to kill the bastard AGAIN? That's what happens with the WHDLoad install in WinUAE...

My score is currently just over 64k...

Those sewer stages are MAD!

There seems to be a raking-up-my-score-till-I'm-bored problem with the final Boss (the big-ass bee).

Check [ Show youtube player ] clip on youtube (skip to 7:30). You could just move to the bottom of the screen and shoot at the smaller bees. They're 100 points each so you can get a pretty big score in no time.

Geez talk about a spoiler..
That last level looks hard..
Why is the player's bee constantly flashing btw.. invincibility?
Newayz it looks like if you try to sit there blowing bee's away to rack up points - you wont last long.. and besides.. Kudos to anyone who manages to finish this bitch of a game..

Here's my 1st score:

98,235
