Differences between 1081, 1084 and Microvitec monitors

I'm after one of these and wanted to know inherent differences between these monitors. Not so much from a tech spec point of view, actual reality of them.

Mainly will be used for gaming.

Cheers

For games best is a standard PAL Stereo 1084S, which has a 640 x 512 resolution and RGB Input.
1081 is only Mono if i remember well.
Microvitec is a monitor dedicated to AGA machines capable of DBLPal and DBLNtsc no-flickered resolution. Better if you want to use a high-resolution screen format for Workbench and utilities.

My 1084S at 640x512 (HiRes Laced) flickers a lot, it can't be used at all, unfortunately.

You are right, 1084S is a good monitor to play games (320 x 256), but if wilshy use a lot Workbench and programs the best solution is the Microvitec which support DBLPal.

The only obvious Microvitec I've had personal experience with is the trusty old Cub, connected to practically every BBC Micro in the land. But it couldn't manage Amiga colours without alteration, as I recall someone telling me.

Thanks folks. Some food for thought, Initially it's likely to be just games but over time would be good to get my Octamed setup on my 1200 running again.

Microvitec did 14", 15" and 17" which were Amiga compatible. Plus Amiga badged M1438s, M1538S and M1764 .

btw, the 1084s is a harmful monitor I don't recommend it anyone
it's too bright and radioactive , that screen emits radiation far away
will destroy your eyes ,it's worse than being near Chernovyl etc
also you must use an old screen glass filter for such monitor, and that not solve all the issues

1764 is just Microvitec 1764 with Amiga badge and Amiga connector instead of VGA - like 1438 I think.

I have a 1764 here, and I know of a few others
Edit: It was certainly sold, not a prototype.
