Personal Nightmare 5 disks version

Someone knows what's the story behind this particular game version?
in the Tosec is marked as 'fake release' :

http://ftp2.grandis.nu/turransearch/...0&httplinks=on

i know the Atari ST version was on 5 disks, it could be something related?

i don't know if it is fake, but this game working both in adf format, ipf and whdload. Maybe it is an error in who has edited the file name in the tosec.

I just meant the low filling rates of the disks. Like data scraped over too many disks

Vacation sounds nice though. Could use one of those

I think that You are wrong. First (beta ?) version has 5 disks like Atari ST version. Duplicated
files often exist on Horror Soft/Adventure Soft games for less disks swapping, from my memory f.e. Simon the Sorcerer game. Some Amiga games was published on 2 disks and later released on 1 disk. More important is checking/compare main file for both game version.

I have made a set of IPF of the retail ST version, it has 5 disks (plus it has a copy protection on disk 5!)

It would be good news if I were wrong! This would be more interesting than a fake, however, has anyone played this version and can confirm the use of disks 4 and 5 in game?

the difference between the two versions (3D vs 5D) comes down to 2 files :
- night.dbm
- var

I haven't looked at the files, my guess is that at some point they realized that they could save manufacturing money by reducing the number of disks to 3.

Or it is a leaked pre-release version before they reduced the amount of disks.

^^ copy/pasted and splitted the desktop window in two lol
oh yes, the vampire was the first thing to get rid of

EDIT i restarted the game using a 512k + 512k slow config, cause using a 1MB Chip setting the game crashed at the end of day one, during the vampire encounter on streets
