Finally finished downloading and got it going in GameBase and wow.. Great stuff! I can tell a TON of work has been done already.

Off the bat, I have two suggestions and one criticism (don't worry about that; I'll explain in a bit... ) One suggestion is to have as the 'genre' if it's a megademo, intro, cracktro, diskmag, etc etc.

The other is if it was presented at a demo party and what place it finished. (perhaps best fits in the 'comments' field) It could be, say: (The Party 1990, 1st place) and the parenthesis should move them up to the top of the list when sorted, but not interfere if there is a further comment, like, 'hit left mouse button when the screen flashes' or something.

The criticism is that it perhaps needs a better splashscreen. (I say this because I did it, and think someone could surely do better.. heh)

Perhaps a subforum somewhere here would be good for additions/suggestions/fixes etc?

Hi Paranoid,

Yes you're right about the ideas you offer

Within a few days i will open a new topic about
some ideas and things that can be added in the demobase.

Thanx for the support so far !

Now for some people that don't have any
experience with Gamebase......

FIRST>>Download Demobase Amiga
Second>>Download Gamebase front end here >>http://www.gamebase64.com/download.p..._ID=1&MD_ID=29

Then install Gamebase 64,it will be installed in
Program files\Gamebase

Unzip " Demobase Amiga" and Copy The folder to the Gamebase
folder.

Then Download and install Winuae (and arrange the kickstart roms)

To make it easy >just let the folder with the Amiga demos where it is
for now.....

RUN Gamebase>Point to Winuae, screenshots and the Amiga Demos
folder.

Exit Gamebase,Run Winuae>Configure the paths for winuae and
scan for kickstart roms.

Close Winuae and RUN gamebase again.

That should do it i guess.....

The part that gave me a little trouble (having never setup Gamebase outside of the automatic installers of Gamebase 64 and Gamebase Amiga) was that to point Gamebase to WinUAE, it's not in Tools -> Paths (where the path to the demos, screenshots, etc are), but GEMUS->1. amigademos

After selecting that, a window pops up with a script, file types, etc etc, but the main thing is the path to find WinUAE.

Winuae

Hello,,just got home from work

@Paranoid>>

Go to Gemus in the above Tab
Shift f1 as for as i know
Then in next window you can give a Name or is that
already filled in(amigademos)>?
On the right you can search for the folder where YOU
have installed Winuae

If thats not the case then shift F11
Make a new name, but i think theres already one entry called
"amigademos".so that should be ok.

Thanks. I had already got it going, but that may help someone else fumbling around with Gamebase. Demobase is still beta (as far as I understand anyway) so perhaps someone could be persuaded to make an install .exe for the first major release, as with Gamebase Amiga/64...
