Wireless vs Wired internet connection

Hello, I have an A1200 and bought a Linksys PCMCIA card. I still have to try this however I was wondering; would a wired connection have a better speed then a wireless connection on an A1200?

Depends on the wireless encryption you use and what cpu if you have anything better than WEP.

Wireless connection is much slower than the wired one due to the fact that it's resource hungry and depends on your CPU. Wired one is much faster.
I still use both.

What about wired connection using PCMCIA vs wired connection using clock port... is one faster than the other?

I'm sure the PCMCIA wired connection is going to be faster.
With 060 you can get as fast as 980KB/s over FTP with Roadshow TCP/IP stack.

I don't you will be able to get any close to that using any other solution i.e - Clockport ETH card or Plipbox.

There's some discussion about the clockport speed: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=78373

So, it looks like the theoretical max speed of the clockport is probably slightly slower than 10Mbps card in PCMCIA, much faster than Plipboxes etc though.
