How are freely distributed emulators plus a bunch of ROMs you can actually might get for free a bargain at any amount of money? Cloanto should disappear.

That would be great if the roms were actually free.....But to legally own the roms for a tenner and get the c64 thrown in....Its a bargain....

And that's from me who breaks all the rules and create my own launchers for the community ..

download Gamebase + Demobase along with either WinUAE or FS-UAE and you have a clean, well organised setup that kicks Cloantos arse all day long.

Seems nice for people who want to simply install one thing and play.

Nice way of getting legal roms, but I already own an A1200 so my roms are legal.

I see repeated purchase of Amiga Forever pretty much every year as doing something to support someone that keeps Amiga's profile at least a tiny bit higher than oblivion. Same as supporting EAB and buying peoples random expensive hardware that they make.

Am I wrong? Hope not.

Thing is, it would not make any difference if everyone stopped buying af,we would all still have our kick roms and games, IMO all you are doing when you buy af is supporting something that is profiteering from a long dead company.

It's cashing in on nostalgia+laziness.
If you want to support the REAL Amiga community, there are definitely better ways.

For example: have you bought Moebius Goatlizard from Blackjet? http://blackjet.co.uk/amiga.php?redi...ius-goatlizard
That's the kind of shit your money and support should go towards, not leeches like Cloanto.

They should make a free version of it like they did with the c64 forever express..

They are only a few games i like but it don't work on COS 32-bit properly cos of wine anyway..

The way I see it AF/Cloanto have been a drag to the Amiga community for over a decade. I see them as a profiteering company, with nothing valuable to contibute, despite they like to think they do.

The Amiga Forever package is of only of use for lazy Amiga emulation. There are plenty of much better solutions out there.

The only AF package worth while is the 'Premium' package which contains some nice extras on a 2-DVD package. I bought the 2005 edition and it's not changed much, if at all since then (think the last AF i bought was 2010 Plus edition...)

Although I bet you can probably watch a lot of the DVD content online (i.e. Youtube) these days.
