Rock Fall type game

I'm looking for this old Rock Fall style game.

Genre: Arcade
Player: Little man head
Enemies: Stones that fall after you eat the dirt beneath them
Objective: Eat (either all the dirt, or all the apples)

I think "Stone" was in the title.

Thanks in advance

Nope, sorry.

I remember that it was really boring, with annoying sound effects.

Why would you want to look for a game that was "really boring"? Just curious.

Nostalgia... Why else would we play all these dull-as-dirt games instead of Half-Life 2?

EDIT: I remember there were tons of rocks on the screen; something like 40 or more on one level. And the opening video was a bunch of square boxes that shrunk in sync to make it look as though you were falling into a pit.

The last bit makes me think the game you're looking for is Dugger:

Nope, not Dugger, but thank you for the reply.

I'm remembering more (though possibly incorrectly).
I'm pretty sure the objective was to eat all the dirt.
The character was a simple human head.
The screen was covered by the playing field, with only the dirt, stones, player, and a black background visible.

Nope, although the game field was quite similar.

The graphics were duller, and the gameplay was simplistic, like it was the second rockfall game ever made.

Again, this information may be incorrect, due to an eight-year gap.

Thank you for your posts.

None of those, but thank you.

It looked quite a bit like Rocky, though, except the graphics were more colorless, and it had no diamonds or bricks.

A wild stab in the dark here, but maybe Balder's Grove?

Hmmm, I just searched through HOL for the category of Maze game and tried to pick the games that were sort of similar to your description...

Have you tried looking at all games on HOL after searching for category of Maze Games?

There are only 2 pages: http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?N_ref_category=13

Maybe it was a PD game???

PD? I'm unfamiliar with that abbreviation/acronym.

I've looked through every maze & puzzle game on HOL, and I still can't find it.
I really don't think I hallucinated the whole thing!

I mean it when I say it looked like the second Rock Fall game ever made. It really was one step up from awful. But for the sake of nostalgia...

I'm not sure that this is the game you are looking for, because the memories you have only match in possibly different versions; But "Rockman" by Mastertronic had a "bunch of square boxes that shrunk in sync" effect (actually just cycling colors) as the title effect for the Commodore C16;

http://plus4.emucamp.com/software/Rockman

I looked up to see if there was an emulated or PD version of it for the Amiga, and I found that it does appear on the following compiliation as a ZX Spectrum game;

http://www.amiga-stuff.com/pd/pdsoftv.html

So then I looked up the Spectrum version... and despite having the same cover art (I owned the original for the C16) it's a somewhat different game... and alot of the sprites are just a head;

http://www.mobygames.com/game/zx-spectrum/rockman

And that's as far as I got. Is it possible then that you are remembering either the original or an updated version of a game from an older machine?

Thanks for looking into it, but that's not it.
The opening screen was almost exactly like that, though.

The graphics were pretty "realistic", but boring. The player's head looked reasonable, as did the rocks, but everything was gray, brown, black, or pale flesh-tone.
