trouble installing ultimate blitz2 (CD) on winuae

Hi Everyone,

I have burned a cd from an ISO, and have winuae recognizing the cd(all files seem fine and present. I downloaded the supposedly improved and functioning install script... Read about it here: http://www.blitz-2000.co.uk/

Problem is ...no matter where I try and install it, after a few seconds of an otherwise smooth install I get this error message. http://www.holymonkeystudio.com/temp/int_error.jpg

Any ideas?

thanks

You should use uaescsi.device and an Amiga CD file system to read the CD and not add it as Windows directory. When using a directory, firstly the file names are not read correctly (all in upper case) and secondly all files on the CD are marked as write protected, which is what causes your problem.

You can use this one if you don't own a legal copy of CacheCDFS (also contained in OS 3.5+ or IDEfix) or AsimCDFS: http://aminet.net/package/disk/cdrom/amicdfs240

thanks. Is there any sourse for step by step instructions on how to install and use this?
Do I install it on my emulated amiga's HD, then use it to read the actual burned CD or do I use it to read the ISO? I'm lost..

Hi Michael,

Why not try AmiBlitz 2.3?

Just extract the archive to your Windows hard drive using WinRAR and mount the AmiBlitz2 folder as an emulated hard drive in WinUAE.

Run the installer, which just copies a few libraries to your system drive and it's ready to run from the Windows folder!

An Uninstall utility is included in case you don't like it.

Edit: Here is AmiBlitz 2.42
