I thik teh Dizzy games are severely overrated. I don't quite like most of them.
However, Fantastic Dizzy, the last of the games, was quite nice and I enjoyed it a lot. The rest are just *hmpf* |

I liked Magic land dizzy most. Maybe because it's the one I have spent most time on because it was the only Dizzy adventure game I had on the C64.
You mention Kwik Snax. I remember having Kwik Snax on the C64 and played it a lot, but I'm not sure if it's the right one. After I got a PC and Amiga I have tried those versions of Kwik Snax and they were nothing like the good C64 version. In the C64 version you were running around a maze, as far as I remember you were still an egg, and you had to save small creatures by running past them and leading them to the exit without bumping into the mosters. The best was at the end of each floor (Which contained several levels) you would have a bonus level, where you sit with a fishing net which can be extended or retracted, and you needed to catch all the good guys being thrown out of a window above and avoid catching the bombs and such. Was this indeed a Dizzy game or just another game called Kwik Snax? Do anyone even know the game I describe? |

The Kwik Snax game you described for the c64 was a Dizzy game. The 16 bit versions were different from the 8 bit versions for some reason.

Was there ever a conversion of the Kwik snax I described? I liked that much better than the 16-bit versions

Re: Favourite Dizzy Adventure
I have only played Fantasy World Dizzy, Treasure Island Dizzy and Yolkfolk Dizzy.
From these 3 I think Yolkfolk was the best one, but I once had a look on Fantastic Dizzy and from it's grafix it seems to be a nice one, too. ps: Anyone knows where to find all 30 coins in Treasure Island ? I've found 29 so far, but this one still to find coin is driving me insane !! |

Bubble Dizzy
I never was a big fan of the Dizzy games on C64 and Amiga. If i had to pick the most enjoyable I would choose Bubble Dizzy on C64. In this game you have to make your way up to the top of the screen by jumping on floating bubbles. I vaguely remember a screenshot of Amiga Bubble Dizzy but I have never played it on that machine.

I never got Bubble dizzy to work on my Amiga. I have played it on an emulator though. It looks fairly similar to the PC version. I quite liked Bubble dizzy the first couple of times I played it but it lost some of it's charm when I recently played it.

It sounds like it could have been based on that Akira. Haven't really been good at the Dizzy games, I've only managed to complete Prince of the yolkfolk and haven't really made any progress in the others.

You get thrown off the ship by a pirate. You then fall all the way to the bottom of the sea. From here, you have to make your way up to the top by either going on the bubbles, or the jellyfish thingies that also happen to be going up there. Along the way, you collect treasure Looks like they wanted to capitalise off a subsection |

I've only really played Treasure Island Dizzy in my real Amiga says (I've played a few emulated since) and I've always said it was my second fav game. The music, the colourful graphics, the innovative puzzle system, I CAN FLY!, it was all good. Could never find that last coin you needed to pass the game, tho. Anyone got a screenshot of the end-screen?

Unforutnately Marz that's the same version I have now. I had the stand alone version on the Amiga, but seeing as I never made it work and I thought it to be a fairly common game so I erased the disk to make room for other games. Sorry.

Prince Of The Yolkfolk for me - my first Dizzy game, my first and last Dizzy game that I actually enjoyed, my first Dizzy game that I actually finished, the only Dizzy game with such an incredible tune.

POTY was fun but too short. Magicland was my fave, that or Fantastic Dizzy, I loved completing them, great fun. I think they're a bit hit and miss - for instance I can't stand Spellbound or Treasure Island, and Crystal Kingdom is pretty average (still completed it though) but I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for Dizzy.
