Can you create Amiga CDs on a PC?

Pretty simple question, but I know you can't write Amiga floppies on a PC, so wondered if the same went for CDs.

Is there any way to do it?

I've just got my CD player working (properly I think), but don't have any CDs aside from normal audio ones to try out.

I'd love to be able to download some of the many coverdisks available online & have a bit of a go with them

Yea, just burn a normal data cd. And download lots of Whdload games, and unpack them on your Amiga

Cool, thanks for that

I actually chucked a PC CD full of .D64 files in the miggy just to see what would happen about 30 mins ago and was surprised to see it was reading correctly.

This is a good...I mean GREAT thing!

I am sure it should be possible to unpack the Whdload games to a CD and run them with WHDLoad from there on a real Amiga? Anyone done that?

@ DDNI:

It´s possible. But be careful with file names containing "-".
They could be renamed as "_". I suppose it depends on the burning method or CDFS.

Yes, it is. I use Nero to burn WHDload games and other Amiga stuff from the internet.

But you´re right. MakeCD could be a better choice. I´ll give it a try with Amikit. Thanks for this brilliant idea

Why? Make sure you have activated "ISO 9960+Joliet", and tick the "Allow more than 64 Characters for Joliet Names" option in Nero. There are no problems on the Amiga side with burned CD's & file names then.

You could getting problems on the amiga with ultra long filenames & Fastfilesystem. But this has nothing to do with the burned CD.

KG's WHDLoad folder names are short enough.

But that's probably a filesystem error, as you mentioned before.
