Cool advice, cheers - I had become a bit rusty what with not having played it for three years

You can't become national coach - it's impossible, according to an earlier post in this thread...

for all of you who say folkford cant win the league at the 1st attempt i can prove otherwise, to prove it i will load a screenshot of league 4 after 12 games played and folkford are already champs with 2 games to play, further proof is check the screenshot with the start of the game to see all the teams are there

heres a tip, badger managers to sell players u want to buy, ring them over and over again eventually they will say i dont really want to sell but wot is ur offer or they will say the player u want is not willing to play in ur league which means give up on them.

tip 2, change all ur players as quickly as u can, most of the 1's u got either are rubbish or just uninterested in trying for u, 2.

tip 3 get ur overdraft limit changed, ask for 800000 and u will get a max of 780000, with that go to bradley town and badger the manager to sell u carl goodwin (mid) then go to porth city and do the same to buy stewart daniels (goalie).

tip 3 always try to buy players that used to be worth a lot higher but are now worth a lot less

tip 4 play formation 424 against the stronger teams and 433 against mid to lower table sides

finally training schedule

goalie

skipping
shooting
aerobics alternate every week with gym circuit
set pieces
rest

defence

sprinting
weights
aerobics alternate every week with gym circuit
marking
rest

midfield

sprinting
weights
aerobics alternate every week with gym circuit
dribbling
rest

forward

sprinting
dribbling
aerobics alternate every week with gym circuit
shooting
rest

set these up in positional then once done put it on all players that way all u have to do each week is alternate aerobics with gym circuit.

hope this helps anyone who still plays this game, i still play it on occassions out of nostalgia

Nice one! I've long forgotten how to do well at this so thanks for the tips. It's an old thread but surely there are a few people out there who still play this game and struggile with it.

Haha thank you. Not the ending I hoped for but at least we have some closure.

Nice to see a fan of these games! There is not enough for what it deserves.

I know! EA and Konami owe so much to these pioneers of football gaming. Lots of people remember Sensi, almost as many remember Anco and Kick Off but there are alot of other companies that contributed alot to the genre. I have more things like this in the pipeline. I think sensi and anco have already been done, especially sensi. But Krisalis are never mentioned or E&J, ESP and Software 2000 for management games.
