Red face SimCity 2000 mode promotion

I'd like to play this game on a CGX screen and i thought it worked but no luck. I promoted the default AGA screen to cgx but the screen lacks both vertical and horizontal scrolling (gfx messed up). Can this game even BE promoted to a properly working cgx or picasso96-screen or am i forced to play it in aga mode?

Damn, i oughta buy me a flicker fixer...

The vertical scrolling and such like is probably specifically using some of the Amiga chipset's magic, so will fail when ModePro'd onto a Gfx card. It's the same with some serious apps like Lightwave, you can ModePro all of the Lightwave screens pefectly, and you can even up the res to something nicer, it reamins totally functional in every way except one, you loose the Animation wire frame preview mode.
Sadly mate ModePro-ing SimCity may not be possible (unless some-one knows different?) but the hardware solution of a ScanDoubler/FlickerFixer on the AGA output wired via a Eyetech Mon switch is cool. Just plug the lot into an SVGA monitor and throw the little toggle switch when you launch AGA games.

I couldn't even run simcity in my Amiga. I dont know why, it never accepts thevideomode. Trying to run it in Productivity was impossible, too.

I just ordered me an external DCE SD/FF and i already have a mon switcher. So this problem should not exist after i get that sd/ff.

Another thing: does the sd/ff remove the flickering in hi-res screens in Slam Tilt & Pinball Illusions?

Just for the sake of knowledge and completion in this thread, I played using my original Simcity 2000 in 95 in a promoted screen using Cybergraphix version 2.18 in a Cybervision64 using the included NewMode screen promotion utility.

I played in 640x480 8 bit mode and was a very playable game in a 040/25.

I would recommend playing Sim City 2k in Shapeshifter instead. It's faster and will obviously run on gfx board
