Tips on desoldering corroded IC-chips

I have an A500 that has had the a501-in-storage-battery-leak.
It has made the removal of the ram chips VERY hard. On the topside of the board, the dull solder is quite stubborn. Reflowing, fluxing, heating, hitting from both sides with two irons. Still won’t come loose. It’s almost as if the legs are cold welded on to the pads.

ICs are the worst since there are so many points that need to be cleared at once.

Any tips on how to remove chips and components with this issue?

Thanks!

Usually fresh solder works OK (use traditional LC63 or any pre-ROHS solder alloy), you may also give a chance to low temp solders such as Chip Quick and similar...

And if all that fails --- take a pair of side cutters to the legs

Yea, that is my next step(maybe). I’ve added fresh solder, soaked in vinegar all of the “classic” procedures. Higher heat on iron , air station while trying to lift the chip. There just seems to always be a tiny bit of solder stuck on each leg that won’t melt. As it’s become a part of the legs and pads. I’ll give it another shot tomorrow. Wiggling the legs don’t work as they are stuck and I don’t want to risk braking traces etc.
I’ve pretty much watched all of gadgetUKs/Chris’s videos.
