I've actually enjoyed Beast 3 from time to time. Beast 1 looks nice but plays like shite and Beast 2 looks and plays like cack. Sooo... pretty much what everyone else has said I guess

Actually, all of the three games has its advantages.
Beast 1 has the nicest graphics and perhaps the best atmosphere - I felt myself immersed in a totally different and alien world when I played it. (Something that I didn't feel until the (PC) Unreal.) I spent countless hours on this game and completed it many times. Beast 2 has the strongest storyline. It also has some unique features like friendly NPC-s and heavy adventure elements. Also, it's not divided into levels, which further strengthens the "epic adventure" feeling. Unfortunately, the horrible difficulty level somewhat ruins the experience. Beast 3 has the best puzzles of the series with heavy use of real-time physics (Revolutionary Half-Life 2? Bah!). Also, this is the only Beast with a reasonable difficulty level. But it doesn't have the usual captivating, dark atmosphere of the previous games and the long-awaited confrontation with Maletoth was a great disappointment. That said, I voted for Beast 1. It's hard to say which beast is best, depends on if it's the amiga or console version |

Despite I finished the game using a walkthrough, the ten pints cheat and numerous reboots after getting stuck, I vote for Beast2 as it doesn't leave much to your imagination yet it forces you to do so. I must admit gameplay sucks (but not unplayable) but even that couldn't stop me from finishing the game years ago

Beast 2 on the Amiga is awesome!
It's fully possible to finish without using cheats as well, once you learn the patterns and figure out the puzzles.. I made a longplay of this long ago, it's up on Youtube Beast 2 is my favourite game in the series |

I didn't like any of them:
Interactive 'demo-scene' coding. Not games at all in my opinion. . Nice to watch for 10mins before getting totally p*ssed off with it. Last edited by Charlie; 13 July 2007 at 19:05. Reason: crappy spelling as usual... |
