X-Surf problems

I bought an X-Surf 3cc some time ago when Jens was still making them and AmigaKit was still selling them, but mine's apparently got a dodgy RJ45 connector on it. When I start up Genesis on my A3000, it sometime takes unplugging the network cable and very firmly reconnecting it 3 or 4 times before it will reliably communicate with my PC, and even then if I turn off the 3000 and come back the next day, I have to do the unplugging-replugging thing all over again.

My first thought was just replacing the RJ45 connector, but I'm no good with a soldering iron. Never held one before in my life. Was wondering what my options were? Would Jens fix it, or would someone here on the board be able to?

i would be able to solder those network motherboard plug but since you are in usa it occurs the risk of geting coght by customs service ,you coulb buy a 30 watt iros and a goot slux and solder and retouch the pins ,not geting the iron in each one of them more than 7 to 10 seconds on the motherboard,that is my advise.
